Standards:-

Thorpestone Walling is manufactured to BS 6457: 1984

Cement Efflorescence:

As with all reconstructed stone and cement-based products, the temporary phenomenon known as efflorescence is likely to occur.

This causes a lightening of the colour and is in no way detrimental to the product. This effect reduces over a period of time with natural weathering.

Manufacturing Tolerances:

Dimensional tolerances permitted by BS 6457: 1984 are:-

Installation Guidelines:

Movement Joints - Vertical movement joints every 6 metres in long lengths of walling.

Resistance to Rain Penetration:

On all facing masonry in heavy driving rain, external skins of cavity walls can allow water penetration through the mortar joints. To avoid this, normal ’good building practice’ should be observed.
